- Sweetener: We used maple syrup and simple syrup.
- Fruit juice: We used orange juice and freshly squeezed lime juice.

Notes
- To make this for 8 people, use 1.5 cup maple syrup, 2.5 cups orange juice, 2 cups simple syrup, 2 teaspoons Angostura orange bitters, 1.5 cup lime juice, and 8 cups of ginger beer.
- To make the simple syrup, 1 cup each of granulated sugar and water to a small pot. (If you are making this for 8 people, double this amount.) - To make this for a small child, add more orange juice to their glass to reduce the spiciness.

love this! but I am curious why the ratios change for making it in bulk (for instance, making 8 individual recipes would mean using a cup of maple syrup, but the bulk recipe for 8 people only uses 1/2 cup)
Emma
Hi Cassandra! Thanks so much for letting us know about this--it was just a typo. We fixed it! 🙂
Chad
For the bulk (8 person) recipe, you fixed the maple syrup conversion, but I think the simple syrup conversion should be 1.5 cups instead of 3/4 cup and the lime juice should go to 3/4 cup. Enjoyed this recipe for my teenagers!
Emma
Chad, Thanks for letting us know. It's been fixed in the recipe card under notes. We are so glad you enjoyed this recipe for your teenagers.
Miguel
How is this a mocktail when it has bitters in it?
Emma
Bitters do contain alcohol, but the amount of bitters in the drink is so small that it only adds a negligible amount of alcohol. It's like adding an alcohol-based vanilla extract to an icing--you don't consider an icing alcoholic just because it contains vanilla extract. 🙂
Beth
The maple syrup and ginger compliment each other so well. I enjoyed the hint of citrus and the spice of the ginger beer. The color is interesting and the texture is smooth. Mint might taste good with this.
Emma
Thank you, Beth! I like the ginger/maple combination as well.
Alex
I like the flavor of it. The color reminds me of orange juice. I like the tingle feeling on my tongue when I drink it.
Emma
The tingly feeling is quite fun! Thanks for leaving a review.
