Ingredients
Curious what ingredients you'll need to make this delicious fudge? You'll only need three simple ingredients for this treat!
- Peanut Butter: Feel free to use either regular or all-natural smooth peanut butter in this recipe. Regular peanut butter gives this candy the smoothest texture, while all-natural gives it a better peanut flavor.
- Butter: We used unsalted butter, as the peanut butter already contains salt.
- Powdered Sugar: This sweetens the fudge mixture and holds it together. Make sure to sift it to remove any lumps.
See recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.
Variations
- Salted Dark Chocolate: Before chilling, melt 8 ounces (226g) dark chocolate and spread over the fudge, then sprinkle generously with flaky salt.
- Peanut Butter Pretzel: Top this treat with 8 ounces (226g) dark chocolate and sprinkle with crushed pretzels.
- White & Dark Chocolate: Melt 4 oz (113g) dark chocolate and 4 oz (113g) white chocolate. Spread the dark chocolate on the fudge, then chill for 20 minutes and top with the white chocolate. Swirl them together if desired.

Recipe FAQs
For traditional fudge, the secret is making sure to cook the ingredients to the right temperature, and using a candy thermometer to check the temperature frequently. However, with this easy recipe, there's no need for a candy thermometer, and you don't have to worry about the candy's temperature!
Sugar is the primary ingredient that hardens the fudge. In this recipe, the butter also helps harden it when the candy is chilled.
It's best to use unsalted butter, as salted butter typically is less fresh, and can contain far more salt than you actually want in the recipe. The peanut butter also contains salt, which means you won't have to add any to the recipe (unless you want extra, like a sprinkle of flaky salt on top).
Make sure that you measure the ingredients accurately (preferably with a kitchen scale for accuracy), and line the pan with parchment paper or foil so you can lift the candy out of the pan to cut it later. Avoid overheating the mixture, and stir it frequently. Chill thoroughly before cutting with a hot knife.
Storage: After the initial chilling, don't refrigerate it. The dry, cool air in the fridge will draw moisture of the fudge, leaving it crumbly. Keep it in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 weeks.
Freezing: Wrap it in wax paper and aluminum foil, then place in an airtight container or plastic bag and freeze for 2-3 months.

3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Fudge
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 18 oz peanut butter, Smooth
- 1 pound powdered sugar
Instructions
- Line an 8x8-inch buttered cake pan with parchment or buttered foil. Make sure there's an overhang of paper or foil all the way around so you can lift the fudge out of the pan later.
- Pour the powdered sugar into a metal sieve and sift to remove lumps.
- Place the butter in a double boiler filled with gently simmering water. Stir the butter occasionally until it's fully melted, then add the peanut butter and stir until well combined and smooth.
- Dump in the sifted powdered sugar and stir until the mixture is free from lumps, which can take a couple minutes.
- Scrape the mixture into the prepared pan and pack it into the corners, then smooth the top. Chill for 1-2 hours, or until set.
- Once the fudge has chilled completely, lift the fudge out of the pan using the paper or foil. Place on a large cutting board then cut it into 32 bite-sized pieces. Use a sharp knife run under hot water and dried in between each slice for the cleanest cut.
