Peel, pit, and chop the peaches. Measure out 2 cups of large chunks and 1 cup finely diced peaches.
Put the peach peels in the blender and puree with a little peach nectar. You'll want 1½ cups of puree for two milkshakes or ⅔ cup of puree for one milkshake.
Place the pureed peach peels, vanilla ice cream, peach nectar, and 2 cups of diced peaches in a blender and blend until thick and combined. If you have a less powerful blender, you'll want to divide the ingredients in half and make one milkshake, then repeat to make the second milkshake.
Stir in the chopped peaches to add additional chunks.
Whip the cream with a hand blender or a whisk, adding a touch of sugar or vanilla as desired. Spoon or pipe the whipped cream on top of the milkshake. Top the milkshake with a maraschino cherry with a stem and one or two red straws. Enjoy right away or place in the freezer for 20-30 minutes so it doesn't melt.
- Use ice cream with a strong vanilla bean flavor that is frozen hard and not melted.
- Add more ice cream or freeze it for 30 minutes to thicken the drink.
- After it's blended, stir in more chunks of diced peaches for the right texture.
- At the beginning, add pureed peelings blended with peach nectar.
- If using frozen or canned peaches, macerate the peaches by sprinkling with sugar, lemon juice and a pinch of salt and let stand 30 minutes on the counter.
