Saute.
1. Saute the
mirepoix
in a Dutch oven until it's softened.
2. Cook the mushrooms in a skillet until they are brown.

5. Add the wild rice and stir for 1 minute to toast it.
6. Slowly add the chicken stock, stirring as you pour it in to prevent lumps.

7. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 45 minutes, then add the cream.
8. Adjust seasonings to taste.
