You probably already have most of these ingredients in your fridge or pantry!
1. Brown the cubed steak in oil. 2. Sauté the onion until golden, then add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
3. Deglaze, then cook the carrots and celery for 5 min. Add the flour and cook 1 min. 4. Add liquids and simmer.
5. Saute the mushrooms in butter. 6. Add the mushrooms and meat to the stew and simmer until the meat is tender.
7. Cover with pastry and bake at 425°F for 35-40 minutes. 8. Let it stand for 15 minutes, then serve.
Serve this steak and ale pie with mashed potatoes and peas for a special dinner.
