How to Make Scottish Oatcakes


What You Need

You don't need a lot of ingredients to make a tasty batch of oatcakes!

Dry Ingredients

1. Pour all the dry ingredients into a bowl. 2. Work them together with your fingertips until the mixture is well combined.

Blend & Roll

3. Mix enough boiling water into the dough to bring it together. 4. Roll it out on a flat surface and cut rounds with a cutter.


5. Cook in a hot pan for 10 minutes per side, or until lightly browned. (Alternatively, bake at 375°F for 30 minutes, flipping after 20 min.) 6. Repeat until all of them are done.


Serve these Scottish oatcakes with jam, butter, cheese, or chutney and enjoy!
