WHAT YOU NEED

Grab these ingredients, and let's cook a juicy, moist roast turkey!

PREP

1. Put a rack in a roasting pan.  Make your own from foil if you don't have one. 2. Rinse the turkey and pat it dry with paper towel.

SEASON

Rub salt and pepper inside the cavity, then stuff with carrot, onion, and celery leaves.

Rub the skin with butter, then add salt and pepper. Cover the cavity.

TRUSS

5. Pour some chicken broth into the pan to keep the drippings from drying out. 6. Truss the turkey with kitchen twine.

ROAST

Preheat the oven to 400°F, then lower it to 350°F and cook for 13 minutes per pound.

Baste every 30 minutes and cook until it has an internal temperature of 165°F.

SERVE

9. Let the turkey rest for 30-60 minutes tented with foil. 10. Carve the turkey or serve it whole on a platter.
