WHAT YOU NEED

Grab these ingredients, and let's cook up an amazing meat and potato pie!

BROWN.

1. Brown the beef chunks in oil in three batches. 2. Cook the onions until they are golden brown, stirring frequently.

COOK.

Add the carrot and celery and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

Add the beef, broth, and spices and simmer for  1 1/2 hours.

SIMMER.

5. Remove the bunch of thyme. 6. Stir in the turnips and potatoes and cook for another 35-45 minutes, until the potatoes are tender.

Bake.

Cover with pastry and brush with beaten egg.  Cut a few vent holes.

Bake at 400°F for 45 minutes, or until the pastry is golden.

ENJOY!

Let the pie stand for at least 15 minutes, then scoop out some for everyone and enjoy!
