Lincolnshire Plum Bread

What You Need

Grab these ingredients, and you'll be ready to make a wonderful British tea loaf from scratch!

Soak & Heat

Soak the dried fruit in tea while you're making the dough. Melt the butter and lard and heat with the milk until it's 115°F.

Mix

Slowly mix the hot milk mixture into the eggs, then whisk in the spices and yeast until dissolved, Add flour to bring into a dough.

Prove & Shape

Knead the dough, then let it rise until doubled, about 2 hours. Then knead in the drained fruit and shape into a loaf.

Almost Done!

Let the loaf rise until nearly doubled, about 1 hour, and then bake. Cool, slice, and enjoy with butter and Lincolnshire poacher cheese.
