Greek Lemon Chicken Soup (Avgolemono)


What You Need

You don't need a lot of ingredients to make a tasty, healthy pot of Greek lemon chicken soup!

Sauté & Simmer

Sauté the onion and garlic, then add the broth and rice. Simmer for 15 minutes, then add the remaining broth.


Whisk the eggs in a bowl, then add the lemon zest and juice. Gradually whisk in 1/2 cup of the hot broth.

Chicken & Spices

Slowly add the egg mixture to the soup. Add the chicken and seasonings, then cook until thickened.

Almost Done!

Garnish the soup with fresh dill and serve hot and fresh with croutons and lemon slices.
