What You Need

You don't need fancy ingredients to whip up this homemade hamburger barley soup!

Brown & Saute

1. Brown the hamburger until it's cooked, breaking up clumps. 2. Saute the veggies until they are soft.

Stir

3. Add the tomato paste, tomatoes, and beef stock. 4. Add the hamburger and water and stir well.

Simmer

5. Add the barley. 6. Add the spices and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve

7. Adjust seasonings to taste, then remove the bay leaves. 8. Ladle into a serving bowl and enjoy while it's hot.
