Fried Green Tomatoes

What You Need

You don't need a lot of ingredients to make a tasty batch of fried green tomatoes!

Prep Tomatoes

1. Slice the green tomatoes in 1/4 inch slices. 2. Sprinkle with salt and sugar and let them sit for 20 minutes.

Flour Mixture

Whisk the salt and white pepper into the flour until well combined.

Breading

5. Beat the egg and buttermilk together until blended. 6. Dredge the tomatoes in  the flour, then coat in the egg mixture and cornmeal.

Fry-yay!

7. Fry in 360°F oil until golden, flipping halfway through. 8. Keep the fried green tomatoes warm in a 200°F oven.
