Easy English Crumpets

What You Need

Mix

1. Mix the two flours and yeast. 2. Dissolve the sugar into the milk, then stir the liquid into the flour to make a stretchy dough.

Let It Rise

3. Let the batter rise until it has started to fall back, 1 1/2-2 hrs. 4. Dissolve the baking soda in warm water and mix it into the batter.

Cook

5. Cover the bowl and let it rise for 20 minutes, or until bubbly. 6. Cook the crumpets in a greased skillet, filling the crumpet rings halfway.

Almost Done!

7. Cook the crumpets for 7-8 min on one side, and 1-2 min on the second side. 8. Serve with butter, cream, and jam!
